If this player has the goods, observe how he usually bets. When players have a good hand they usually bet to seek value from the players at the table. You will learn how they bet if you wait until they show a winning hand. When it they have the lead what percentage of the pot do they bet into. So if you see this happening, you’ll realize he’s feeling really good about the cards he’s holding. If you have a great hand, you have 2 choices, you can either fold or raise the bet to a big amount.

When he is on the bluff how did he bet? Just as the first one, this is equally important and significant. Bluffs may be harder to recognize than good hands, but the other player will often show some type of sign after a successful bluff. Two major “tells” are sighing and grinning. Using the same strategy as the previous example, keep in mind what the player bet as a percentage of the pot when he tried to bluff. If you keep an eye on another player, you can frequently begin to spot his “tells”, although such bets only happen now and then.
